"Drugs, weapons, gangs, violence, corrupt politicians....it's the stuff that fuels a peaceful societies nightmares. We want our children, our families, our friends and our neighbors to be safe. But, the Yankan and Inago have been coming in hot, feuding over who will win, who will gain control of our once thriving city at the expense of innocent lives. The government officials are doing everything they can to stop them, but they can't all be trusted either, can they? Life has been turned upside by the greedy and malicious hands of the gangs, officers and politicians and our once safe city, is no longer that. It is time for us to start picking sides, or hiding, because this is only the beginning the decline..."

[attr="class","monbody"] At this point Ryota was starting to get annoyed, the smaller woman had attached to him like a flea on a dog. Of course, he had no one to blame except for himself. He groaned as the little woman followed him, nagging like someones mother. They weaved through the crowd as he was headed for the door.
Within feet he stopped and turned to look at her. ”Are you done yet?” he asked, his voice showing no indication of his very real frustrations. Admittedly, the dumb drunk part of his brain shouldn't have said anything at all, but he did and now he's stuck getting badgered by this menace.
He looked at the door, then back at the smaller being. ”Or are you just going to follow me around all night and bitch about this?” this question was asked more aggressively than the last, while Ryota had no issues with taking down a female, he would rather it not come to that- especially since she was so heavily hinting at her profession as a police officer.

[attr="class","monbody"] It had definitely been a weird day so for the typically calm and rational man. He unexpectedly ran into Reiko during a bad deal and somehow managed to get her on board with teaching their less than great marijuana supplier a lesson. Which was great, however soon after while awaiting orders Ryota had taken an accidental plunge into the water- something he obviously was less than pleased about since this meant he had to deliver those drugs while being completely soaked and covered in sand.
The car ride from the beach to the projects wasn't far enough for him to have dried off, so as they pulled into the parking lot of a closed down business, the location he had been given, he felt a minute bit of anxiety. Something that was rare for someone who's brain worked the way his did. He rarely concerned himself with the “what ifs” of life. However, when it came down to business he couldn't help but to worry about disappointing his leader. After-all, his place was with them.
His clothes were still drenched in ocean water, and due to the sand his feet had picked up so he refused to put his socks and shoes back on. He sighed, looking over to Reiko who had agreed to join him in finishing the deal they had started. ”Guess we can just go ahead and get this over with.” He said somewhat casually, his voice leaving no hints of the frustrations he felt.
He exited the car after popping the trunk open, still barefooted he made sure to keep an eye for anything he could hurt his feet on. He took the bag containing pounds of tree, closed the trunk and began to carefully walk to the back of the building. He approached a metal door, banging on it a couple of times as he looked around, making sure no one aside from his own were watching.

[attr="class","monbody"] The shock Ryota felt when the other offered to also get soaked was truly something else. And if her goal was to calm him down, it definitely worked. His expressions softened as he shook his head, ”The sentiment is kind, but definitely not necessary.” He did respect her camaraderie, as much as he would be against voicing that fact. He tried to make his respect elusive, and she already got him once.
Though her comment struck another thought, 'She did mention the car seat, maybe she'd like to come with.' Ryota had to admit that she definitely made the whole process in receiving the drugs a lot easier, and if she had the time to make the delivery it would soften the blow of his appearance to their boss. Plus, it would be fun to hear her side when they do meet with WR.
”I mean, if you still have nothing to do, we can still finish the deal together?” He stated in the form of a question, trying not to force her into something she didn't want to do. He felt there wouldn't be any issue with an extra member showing up, and if so Ryota would be prepared to take any blame if there was.
He motioned to the car with his head as he began to make his way back to it, as if to say 'If so, then let's get to it.'. At the end of the day, regardless of her companionship he had a job to finish, and he knew their boss wasn't patient. 'Even if they made me wait for a location like that...'

[attr="class","monbody"] Much to his surprise, he wasn't met with a lot of laughter or ridicule from his pink haired counterpart. And admittedly, he may have been over reacting, which he realized as she approached him. Allowing his hand to fall from his head, he produced a soft sigh as he looked down at the girl, it wasn't her fault he fell, even if she was the reason he went into the water in the first place.
His facial expressions softened, and in an attempt to reel back his initial disgruntlement he answered, “I just hope our boss doesn't ridicule me for delivering those drugs like this,” he motioned to his soaked clothes before adding, ”also was not planning on trying to swim today.” Ryota was a realist, and realistically he believed that there was no time to waste worrying about these things, he still had a job to do. 'Even if this does absolutely suck.'
”Thanks,” he mumbled, unsure of why he felt the need to thank her. 'Well, she didn't make it worse for me, so that calls for a thank you, right?' he thought internally trying to justify why he would say such a thing. He leaned down, grabbing his socks and shoes, he wasn't going to get sand in them too before attempting a smile at the woman. ”I guess I have a deal to finish...” He said, indicating that it almost time for him to go meet his fate with the boss.
A small part of Ryo kind of wished he had more time with the other, because all things considered he actually had a pretty good time. Most of his deals were mundane and simple, but adding Reiko in the mix provided the perfect amount of excitement, or at least the man thought so. ”Hopefully, we can do this again sometime.”
[attr="class","monbody"] It was an odd thing, to say the least, for a man like Ryota to even attempt to wade around in water just for fun. But, he couldn't help but to smile to himself as he heard Reiko's response, she was indeed pleased with his attempt to amuse her. Not that it really mattered that much. Though, much to his surprise it didn't feel all that bad.
So when the other asked him if was nice, all he could do was shrug and say ”It's about what I expected,” in a joking way. Did Ryota actually feel kind of happy about this whole situation? He cleared his throat, turning to face her, attempting to maintain his cold facial features- he couldn't give her complete satisfaction. ”I don't get what the big deal is though.” He said with a small grin, almost unable to stop himself from expressing a minute amount of pleasure.
Though during this interaction, his phone chimed indicating he had gotten a message and with that his brain immediately snapped back into it's normal work mode. However, in his excitement to get to his phone and figure out what to do with the drugs he managed to trip himself in the water, and with a huge splash he went down. His instant reaction was to yell ”What the fuck?” as he tripped.
Ryota felt a lot of things as the rest of his body and clothes got soaked, mostly anger, and embarrassment, his face was beet red as he managed to stand back up, his once dry clothes now soaked. He marched out of the water, glaring at Reiko as if to say 'don't say anything about this'. He shook his hand to get as much liquid off as he could before checking his phone.
The text gave him the location and time for drop off, however this information didn't make him feel any better about what had just occurred. ”Well, I got the text....” he said, his voice clearly indicating his rather unhappy mood. 'Great, now I'm going to get my car seat wet, and our boss is going to think I'm an idiot' He thought as he pulled a hand up to his head to rub his temple. All the while trying to avoid looking at Reiko, whom was probably having a great time with what she had just witnessed.
[attr="class","monbody"] There was part of Ryotas intoxicated brain that got joy from provoking someone so naive and foolish. Watching the small woman puff up with rage caused Ryo to chuckle, and even more so at her response. 'No shit it's illegal.' He insisted on keeping this comment to himself, as the tinier being stumbled closer to him.
He crossed his arms over his chest, sighing as he rolled his eyes. 'Is she done yet?' Obviously, the man couldn't be bothering with soaking in anything the irate lady was saying, until, however she mentioned the word cop. He raised an eyebrow, clearly this woman or girl or whatever she was, wasn't implying she was an officer, right? Ryota couldn't help but to stifle out a laugh.
”Listen, you're the one who bumped into me,” he said, purposely leaning down so there eyes were level, ”if you don't like what I have to say then you can leave.” He motioned to the door with a nod before standing straight once more. He looked her up and down once more before walking past her, voicing his thoughts as he went by, ”if you are a cop, you look like you'd be a pretty shitty one.”
[attr="class","monbody"] Clearly Reiko was looking for something to be humored by, and after the experience they just had together, maybe he owed it to her. He sighed heavily, shaking his head, 'what is this lady doing to me. he thought as he took a few steps further away from the waves. His shoes and socks off, and took his phone out of his pocket, double checking to make sure the volume was up, so once their boss reached out with drop-off instructions, he'd know immediately. He placed his phone next to his shoes and walked back over the waters edge, pulling his sweats up just to his knees he waded in, wincing at the coldness of the water.
He turned slowly to face her, ”You happy now?” He asked with a cold tone, he frowned thinking about the sand that was going to stick to him once out of the water, it really was his least favorite part about beaches. It frustrated him even more that he was going to have to track that crap into his car. Before she could answer he rolled his eyes and turned back to face the rest of the liquid.
The water that devoured his legs didn't feel too bad though, once he was able to adapt to the coolness. He breathed in deeply, attempting to make the best of his effort to amuse his pink-haired counterpart 'I don't understand how being damp and covered with sand is enjoyable.' He thought to himself, as he found it hard to remove his unimpressed feelings of going out of his way to get in the water.
Though, he didn't do it for nothing. Glancing back briefly at Reiko, his mind mumbled 'hopefully she appreciates this. Typically he wasn't the type to humor others or to give them any type of satisfaction, but she did just assist him in stealing drugs from a guy, so in his mind it was able to justify doing such a thing, at least just this one time.
[attr="class","monbody"] As the tall lanky figure was once more met with the outstanding open view of endless waves of blue he couldn't help but to exhale a deeply relaxed sigh. His slate eyes lowered to the sand, taking a moment to truly soak in that moment of peace, something that was quiet rare for the guy. The entirety of his day had been chaotic, all the way up until that very moment.
All the excitement of the previous deal had started to wind down, despite it not being truly over until he could get the shit to their boss. Though, who knew when they would respond. He stood, his hands the pockets of his sweats, just at the edge where the water met the earth. His brain recounting the last few moments- it was exciting, but Ryota felt almost tired. His whole existence surrounded by the Yankan, it was in his blood, it was his place in the universe- or so he would tell himself. That was his reality and there's nothing wrong with that, right?
Thankfully this thought was cut off by Reiko, per usual. Glancing back with a single eyebrow raised, ”If I were trying to get wet, I would have brought something to swim in...” he responded as realisticly as he could, Ryota wasn't known to take jokes all that well. He huffed, adverting his attention back to the view as he added ”You're the one who was ankle deep in this shit earlier, why aren't you out here then?”
There was something exciting about the shorter pink haired woman, even though Ryota had only spent so little time with her she had kept him on his toes the entirety of that time. Not to say that he necessarily liked wild people, but this one was different.
[attr="class","monbody"] Ryota snapped quickly back to reality when he realized he needed to communicate that the goods were secured. He pulled his phone out, shooting a quick text to WR, Hey, we got the shit and taught him a lesson....where should we meet to drop it off?. Hopefully, they'd hear back soon. Ryota produced a sigh as he worked his phone back into his pocket. He was once more greeted with the voice of Reiko.
A minute grin curved onto his face as he diverted his attention to the fierce woman. Pleased, she had agreed to wait this mission out and even more so that if it were to ever come up she'd be down to assist him. Ryota knew the working mechanics of the Yankan- everybody had their place. But perhaps expressing his need of an occasional bodyguard would allow for them to have more of these fun little adventures.”Good to hear,” he said in a low tone, his eyes slowly moved from her to the dashboard of his car, squinting as if he were thinking hard in response to her question.
”Well, I texted our boss, so I guess we kill time until something comes up?” He spoke, as if he were asking her if it was okay- something that was rather odd for him. In fact, he hadn't really felt himself during his entire interaction with Reiko, typically he didn't feel like he had to get someones permission to do something, he was the type to demand not ask, but that felt impossible with her. 'Probably because I know it'd be a problem if I ever did demand anything....she wouldn't like me much. And that was it....why did he even care if she liked him? Yeah they played for the same team but that didn't necessarily mean everyone had to like each other.
Ryo caught himself feeling flushed from this thought, ”How about we go see the water one more time?” he asked looking for any excuse to get out of the car with her. He instantly opened the door, pulling himself out. His face was pink with lingering thoughts of admiration as he marched towards the beach one more time, forcing himself not to look back to see if she would follow. He wasn't worried about leaving the car unattended either- 'that guy would have to have a death wish to try and steal it back....' Ryota thought as he approached the lines where the waves met the sand.
[attr="class","monbody"] Everything was going flawlessly, they had the stuff, nobody got hurt. 'Well, except for that one guy, but he should have been here on time. Getting into the car, he felt like he could relax a little, he looked over to Reiko, his expression softened entirely. ”Yeah, you took him down pretty quickly,” he said looking back to ensure the guy wasn't getting up to come after them. Ryota didn't expect him too though, anyone who had been dealing with the Yankan long enough was more than aware of what they were capable of, and coming back to that would only be a death sentence.
As he put on his seat belt and started the car he spoke once more, ”ya know, maybe I can see about you coming with me on more of these deals if WR approves,” he pulled the car out of its current spot, and began to drive slowly up the parking lot, in an attempt to find a different location on the beach to await further orders. ”I could use someone who isn't afraid to get their hands dirty.” It wasn't that Ryota couldn't fight, or wouldn't if he absolutely had to, it was more so that he felt like it was beneath him. Ryota had wits and manipulation on his side, and the majority of the time he could get out of a situation without having to throw hands.
That being said, he did value the importance of physical and brute strength, and seeing as he was starting to favor Reiko, it only made him more inclined to include someone with such attributes on his missions. He brushed his hair back and sighed, upon finding another spot that was far enough away from the scene they had left, he parked. ”So, I guess we can wait until I get word on what to do with this crap, if you still wanted to stick this out with me...” It was almost as if he were asking her not to leave, his slate colored eyes meeting her once more, a gentle smiled placed on his face.
Part of him wanted to see the water again, he felt as though something special had been interrupted by their less-than-great vendor. Ryota really felt like he was getting somewhere with himself, a better understanding of self-care if you will. Realizing he had been almost staring at Reiko he looked back to rear view mirror, seeing the ocean, it was really shaping up to be a not so bad day.
[attr="class","monbody"] For what it was worth, Ryota wasn't quiet sure what he had expected. Reiko had such a fierceness to her that appealed to the generally unamused man. He made sure to stay out of her way during the take down- admiring hear straightforward and brute approach from a relatively safe distance, all while calculating his plan.
He gave her an assignment, and she took it without hesitation. As soon as she had him on the ground, Ryota saw his opportunity, as Reiko crushed the others hand Ryota approached swiftly, yanking the bag. Admittedly, the others approach to the situation was different than how he would normally handle things, but it was effective nonetheless. After the final blow, his eyes met hers, ”Take this and follow me to my car, we can stop further up the beach and wait for word on what to do next,” he spoke quickly.
As he gave control of the bag to Reiko his eyes met the vendor on the ground, he seemed completely out, 'she's not bad. he thought before walking in the direction of his car. Ryota had a tendency to turn any human part of his brain off when it came to down to business. There was no room for emotions or doubts, especially when you partook in dirty business.
As he approached the car he glanced back to ensure Reiko and the bag were still behind, he pulled the keys from his pocket and unlocked the doors, he popped the trunk, and motioned for the female to throw the bag inside. ”I'm impressed,” he spoke softly, as if the prior event were something casual- though it was anything but.
The male proceeded to get in the driver seat of the car, and while he wait for Reiko, he felt a hint of triumph. He hadn't had a deal that exciting in what seemed like ages, and the best part? They didn't lose the money and Ryota found someone who knew how to get shit done.
[attr="class","monbody"] Ryota felt confident in the situation. He was a fairly observant man, and had a nice track record of having deals go his way. However, he was usually by himself, adding another person into the mix definitely provided its own set of risks. Though he tried to extend his confidence out to Reiko, as he had faith she was as strong as she claimed. She deemed to be significant and Ryota would have to be an idiot to try and underestimate her.
A devious grin crept onto Ryotas face as the guy stood up from out of the car, a medium sized duffel bag in his hand, he asked Ryota about the money. ”Yeah, my friend here will take care of the payment,” he responded with an almost conceited manner while stepping back to her side. If she could take him down, Ryota could secure the product. And having parked further up the lot, they could make a run and get out after the deed was done, it seemed like an almost flawless plan.
However, despite the solidness of this plan, a brief feeling of nervousness still found its way into his brain, more specifically a hinge of concern for the smaller woman he had just truly met. ’If anything goes wrong, I’ll have her back though.’ Though through this thought Ryota tried to tell himself his place of care was only because she was a Yankan, one of his own. Right? He shook the pestering idea away; this wasn’t the time or place. Shit was about to get serious. He looked to the pink haired beauty, waiting to witness the carnage.
[attr="class","monbody"] ’And she’s not above taking this kind of work on.’ Ryota thought with a smile, he was impressed by her willingness to take action; it wasn’t something he saw every day, especially from someone like her. He attempted to shrug off the rather, awkward interaction, ’if that’s what we can even call it. Typically he liked to have a game plan, he was analytic and strategic and only fools went into fights without a plan.
But, they unfortunately and seemingly didn’t have the time. Before he could say anything they heard a car pulling up to the parking just across the sand. His phone vibrated, showing a message from an unknown number saying ’I’m here. As he was about to relay this, Reiko had already began charging the situation. ”Well, damn.” He mumbled with a light chuckle, she was definitely something else.
Following her he tried to come up with a quick plan. ”So we need to get the supplies too, I figure I’ll distract him and you can take him out? We have to see the product first though, I don’t want to risk taking the time to have to find it.” He spoke with urgency, it sounded solid coming out, however execution was what mattered.
As the approached the male, Ryota gave him an assessment. He might have been roughly five feet and nine inches, just a little shorter that Ryota but taller than Reiko by a fair amount. He had some weight to him, maybe close to two-hundred pounds? Reiko was small, but that didn’t have to be a disadvantage. Ryota sped up, in attempt to take the lead. ”You’re late? Where is my shit?” Ryota said, his voice low, his tone much darker than his previous conversation with Reiko.
He didn’t treat anyone the same way he treated true members of the Yankan, he ran the risk of Reiko seeing how cruel he could be, but she seemed like she was similar, or so he had hoped. Though it was unusual for him to care, he cleared his throat trying to clear his mind of that particular subject. ”Stop wasting my time and grab the stuff.” He then demanded, seeing the guy was clearly taking his time to shuffle through the car.
He glanced back to Reiko, softening his gaze, he felt like she could handle it. ’No, I know she could handle it.’ He thought before looking back at the vendor, just waiting for a glimpse of the weed.
[attr="class","monbody"] It was rather odd for Ryota to have such a decent time in the presence of another person, it helped that she was a part of the Yankan. He had a belief that the blood of the covenant was stronger than the water of the womb. He held fierce loyalty to his comrades, and Reiko was not an exception. In fact, she quiet surprised him, which is an impressive feat to accomplish.
It was amusing in all the right ways to hear Reiko speak with such buoyancy, he could have gone as far as saying it was rather admirable in a peculiar way. She even managed to get a small laugh out of him, ”Aggressive with intent and no shame?” He peered at the pink haired female in front of him, a soft smile planted on his fair skinned face, ”I like that, shows character.” He quickly looked back to the ocean, this experience was slowly starting to turn around.
Reiko threw him off guard as she responded to him, ’I guess I did say that too loud, hopefully she doesn’t get the wrong idea…’ He cleared his throat, and avoiding having to look at her he said, ”Well, good two allies on the same page.” It was even more surprising to him that she was willing to wait the vendor out with him, surely she could only stand so much of the beach, right? Ryota was already over the situation, and not in a positive way, he, oddly, didn’t want her to have to suffer with him.
However, before he could respond his phone vibrated, a message from the boss. ’If he shows up, do whatever you have to do to teach him that’s not how we operate. If you can get the supplies without paying, I can deal with the retaliation.’ A devious smile curled across his face, his momentary brush with embarrassment quickly vanished. ”Well, I did get word to deal with it accordingly.”
Thinking for a moment, he realized he wanted to let Reiko take charge of the situation. If the guy showed up, it would give Ryota a good idea of how she handled such situations, and she did say she enjoying dealing with confrontation. ”If he shows, how would you feel about teaching him his lesson on punctuality?” He asked, narrowing his eyes, almost as if he were giving the smaller human a challenge. One he hoped she would take.
[attr="class","monbody"] Alcohol did some weird stuff to people, such as making someone stick around for an unwanted and awkward situation. Like Ryota helping some stranger who bumped into him, only for her to get mad at him? 'How fucking stupid is that? Ryota scoffed and rolled his eyes. ”Like that means anything.....fake identification exists, unless you live under a rock....” His words were a definitely more on the hostile side, but she got angry first, and it was the only appropriate response, right?
He sighed heavily, he could see that he upset her, and it became more and more clear that she possibly wasn't sober herself. Humans did stupid shit, especially when they drink, including getting into mindless arguments over seemingly nothing. Ryota wouldn't have normally cared about this kind of situation, it didn't matter to him if she was supposed to be there or not. His debated just walking around her and leaving, until she brought him back into it.
He raised an eyebrow, ”You wanna know my deal?” He scoffed and gave an almost diabolical smirk, he took to the time to fully scan her over, debating over how he wanted to respond. ”I'm a drug dealer, and I was just selling to all these people,” he said with a big smile, motioing to the crowed of people that surrounded them, it was like he was entirely joking. Any sane person wouldn't take him seriously, and even if she did, there was no way to prove it. He sold all his product, he also figured maybe this comment would get her out of his way at the very least...or it would just make things even more interesting.
