APPEARANCE Hiromichi is a lean and athletic young man who appears slender at first glance, but is actually quite muscular. Most of his appearance is fairly unremarkable, having the same color hair and eyes as the general population. Even his hair cut is a fairly common short swoop. Hiro is taller than most of his fellow commoners, allowing him to stand out in a small way, and occasionally gaining an advantage in the dojo. The young man wears an assortment of different clothing, from traditionally Kendo Gi to hoodies, sweatpants, and t-shirts. When fighting off street gangs however, he wears a thick black jacket with a hood and facemask. Along with the aforementioned cloths, he also wears black cargo pants and modified geta for running in the streets. PERSONALITY Hiromichi is a perpetually angry individual who tries to escape the stress and anxiety of everyday life, but often fails. He would like nothing more then to live in a calm city with his family, where he could simply practice his sport and teach classes. Alas, fate would never allow for something like that. His hometown was once beautiful, but now he sees it as a toxic waste dump. He hates the violence and crime in the streets, and wants it all to stop. Perhaps more than anyone else in the city. He holds a personal vendetta against drug dealers, especially ones who sell to children and teenagers. Many of the children in town attend his dojo, and his sister was once a child who was allured by drugs. While Hiro respects the police, he doesn't feel they're doing enough to stop the crime. When not under the stress of the city, Hiro can be a very laid back and happy-go-lucky individual. He often finds himself hanging out with friends and family after work, and is generally considered to be an extraverted individual. Though he goes on very few dates, he isn't opposed to the idea of romance either, if he met the right person.
BACKGROUND Hiromichi Muramasa was born and raised in Keibetsu. Even as a small child, he only left the island a handful of times to visit relatives on mainland Japan. His father was a humble accountant, working long hours for a large company, while his mother took care of the home. He was the first born child of two, being four years senior to his sister. At the ripe age of 6, Hiro had become interested in Kendo due to an ad he saw on TV. His last name was Muramasa after all, so he had to have some natural talent. Though his parents were somewhat worried at first, they would agree to this request, bringing their child to a local dojo. There he would meet his Sensi, and long time friend Master Goro. He would grow up learning discipline, and the way of the katana. Later he would pick up the nodachi as well. As the young boy grew, it would become very apparent he was quite talented in swordsmanship. He could best every other student his age, and would frequently win local competitions. As he grew, so would his skills, eventually becoming a teaching assistant while still in high school. While he spent much of his time training with the blade however, he overlooked the struggles of his younger sister. A mysterious man had begun lurking around the local middle school. One who sold all sorts of strange drugs to the young teens who attended. Naively thinking the drugs would help her with her school work, Maki stole money from her father's wallet to buy from the strange dealer. Long story short, the young girl was hooked on drugs, and continued to buy from the same man. Their father never realized the money was missing, until one day the dealer paid a visit to their home. While Hiromichi was a Kendo practice, his father was stabbed and robbed at his very own doorstep. The dealer who sold to his young sister Maki was the culprit. Once he had the wallet, he would take the rest of the home's valuables, leaving the place destitute. Upon returning home, Hiro was devastated. Police had already locked down the crime scene, and his father was declared to be dead soon after. He had his mother and sister to care for now... Several years would pass, and Hiro would continue to achieve accolades in his martial art. Eventually, he would get an official job as an instructor at the dojo. It paid well. Enough to feed his family at least. Over the course of the next two years, his sister would mysteriously disappear, with no one being able to find a trace of her. Hiro's mother on the other hand would suffer a grim fate, cancer that would lead to her passing. In such a short time, his entire family was gone. His city had slowly become a cesspool for crime. He was furious. The Muramasa was tired of letting this city destroy his family, and his life. He wanted to make a very hands on change. Using his skill in swordsmanship, Hiro decided to begin his own crusade against the gangs. He would begin patrolling the streets at night, concealing his identity, and cutting down any criminals he could find. Perhaps this only added to the chaos, but it was something that gave Hiro some sense of peace. |
