"Drugs, weapons, gangs, violence, corrupt politicians....it's the stuff that fuels a peaceful societies nightmares. We want our children, our families, our friends and our neighbors to be safe. But, the Yankan and Inago have been coming in hot, feuding over who will win, who will gain control of our once thriving city at the expense of innocent lives. The government officials are doing everything they can to stop them, but they can't all be trusted either, can they? Life has been turned upside by the greedy and malicious hands of the gangs, officers and politicians and our once safe city, is no longer that. After four years of working on this plot and story- we are finally open. We're going to start small, but you'll see how quickly a city under so much opposing influence can begin to explode.

WR's little downtown auto shop was a hotspot for average Joes, Janes, & street racers alike, though they much preferred dealing with the latter. What started as a small business to entertain a daring hobby quickly translated to a (somewhat) full-time job, which albeit annoying & tedious at times, was a welcome surprise for them. To sweeten the pot, they didn't even care about (or need) the money; they just enjoyed admiring & fixing up cars.
So, like every other weekday, they could be found through an open garage door, spinning around in a worn office chair, doing this or that on their phone. It was an unusually slow day, but they didn't mind it so much. Whether they spent their time texting this or tinkering with that, it was just another Tuesday to them. They spun around to face the abnormally organized desk on the far end of the garage which stretched the entire length of the wall, reaching for the mini fridge they always kept their chair in close proximity of. The door gave way with a pathetic squeak, only to be harshly slammed back into place.
"Damn it," they hissed, plopping their phone face down on the desk, "I forgot I'm out of drinks."
With a shake of their head, they pulled themself out of the chair, skulking low around the garage in an attempt to scavenge something they may have neglected to refrigerate.

It was another summer afternoon in the city. The day was still young but aging quickly, denoted by the golden tint of the sunlight and the haze of heat rising from the asphalt beside Jasper. He liked watching the distortions and idly creating theories of why they may occur. It was something to focus on while he carried some groceries home. The adventure in his thoughts would end when he noticed something rolling towards him.
He would gently stop it with his foot, catching it between the stilettos and the foot of his heels. Looking down, he found that it was a can of soda. He looked to his left, where it came from, and saw someone rummaging around a garage. They were short, dressed effeminately, and, from Jasper's view of them bent over, had a nice ass. Jasper enjoyed helping out, and even if the soda isn't what they are looking for, he wouldn't mind stopping to help them look. Wearing an easy smile, Jasper addressed them in an androgynous, bubbly timbre.
They talked under their breath as they often did while rummaging around the garage, to unfortunately no avail. After a few moments, they straightened up with a grunt & pouted, begrudgingly accepting defeat, They took a step toward the chair they had come to recognize as a second home, pausing - almost freezing - at the sudden sound of a voice, as every process within their brain seemed to stop all at once. Normally voices were accompanied by the roaring of an engine, which they could always hear miles & miles away before it actually made an appearance.
But this voice...
They turned around slowly to face it, as if they were a child who had just been caught out of bed past their bedtime, eyes wide in surprise. A quick glance of this fashionable individual forced a tilt of their head, followed by the narrowing of their eyes before their gaze finally settled on the can in his hand.
This ought to be interesting, they thought.
"You got a ride or what?" They demanded, plucking the soda from his grasp. They eyed him intently as they cracked it open & took a long, dramatic chug, despite the fact it had basically been boiling from long-term heat exposure. They wiped their lips with an "ah" & tossed the can aside, the clanking of the tin against whatever tool it clashed with filling the silence between them.

It took a lot for Jasper to stifle a giggle as WR muttered under their breath and scrabbled about their garage. This veneer would dissolve into an effervescent chuckle as the short individual turned. They were so animated, and their expressions reminded him of a cartoon. Their childlike demeanor made him feel like a babysitter walking in on a misbehaving child. He was curious about what this individual was doing in a garage but would keep his presuppositions to himself. After all, he knew better than anyone not to judge ostensibly.
His expression would become dulcet once again after WR spoke, albeit with a brighter smile than before. They were brash, hot-headed, and unrefined in the most entertaining way possible. Jasper's hasty opinion was then confirmed when they proceeded to chug a hot soda like a sociopath. This warranted a raised eyebrow and an expression of playful disbelief. When he responded, he did so casually, unphased by the demand of his short acquaintance.
"Yeah, I have a Jeep back at my place, but I prefer walking if possible. You want a cold drink or what?"
He would then lift up one of the bags in his hand, revealing that in it were bottles of lemonade, still cold as he'd only been walking a short distance. Hopefully, he could keep the fun going a bit longer.
They resumed their stride back to the chair, which they promptly plopped down on with a creak. They spun around once, grabbing their phone off the desk as they turned to face the stranger again, resting their head on their palm as they came to a squeaky stop. They pressed the button on their phone to check the time, giving a thoughtful grunt as if contemplating.
No car to fix, huh? They nodded their head idly before returning their gaze to him. "Whattaya want then, a keychain?" They scoffed with a half smile, rolling their eyes as the playful comment left their mouth. It was intended to be more of an insult than anything, but they tended to have a playful undertone unless they were actively taking things seriously. They shrugged.
The day was slow & they doubted it was going to pick up, so they had nothing to lose by entertaining this... whoever this was.
Crossing one leg over the other, they raised a hand, balling their fingers playfully.
"Hit me," they said, in reference to the lemonade. They weren't entirely sure what this stranger's intentions were, but they weren't one to deny free stuff, especially when said stuff was consumable.
"I was kidding about the keychain, by the way. Members only."

Jasper would watch as WR moved back to their chair. They seemed deep in thought, a stark contrast to the blunt individual from a moment ago. Jasper's head would tilt with curiosity at this, but he wouldn't comment. Their response was a return to form, though it had some strange undertones. Regardless, Jasper would take it in good stride and respond with a similar tone.
"No, your boiled soda rolled my way so I returned it. Then I realized you were funny and decided to offer you lemonade as an excuse to talk some more."
Jasper would find an open spot on a table to lean back against and set down his stuff. He reached into his bag and threw WR a lemonade over his shoulder, landing right in their hand. Then Jasper turned and rested his arms on the table behind him. He would chuckle at their last comment but make a note of it in his head. He would then proceed to ask with a feigned pout.
"Aww, so I'm not cool enough to be a part of your club? I was even going to share some snacks with you."
Jasper would toss them another bag, some snacks he liked to bring for the office. Assorted chips, candies, and other junk food could be found inside the bag. Notably for WR, a box of cinnamon candy near the top. Jasper would take a sip of lemonade, his eyes still playfully fixed on WR.

Their gaze wandered off to their phone while they waited for the cold sensations of the lemonade to mesh with the warmth of their skin. They idly flicked away junk notifications, ensuring to leave the few that would require their attention later. At the sound of rustling plastic, they returned their gaze to him, just in time to catch the bottle which noticeably fell rather effortlessly between their fingers, as if the motion was entirely calculated. They twisted off the cap & tossed it aside, taking a quick sip. It was so refreshing in stark contrast to the boiling soda they had almost thoughtlessly chugged before.
They smirked at his initial comment, setting the bottle down on the desk next to them. "So you just find excuses to hit up strangers then?" they teased with an eyebrow raised, setting their phone face down next to the lemonade. Part of them was genuinely curious about this individual & another part of them just wanted to pass the time. They were thankful for the drinks regardless (though they would never say it), even if they were skeptical of an ulterior motive.
...then he mentioned snacks & their eyes lit up like a child's on Christmas morning.
As the bag hit their lap, they plucked out the cinnamon candies at random, as if they were calling for them. Once it finally registered what they were actually holding, though, a surprised squeak escaped them, & the rest of the snacks went tumbling to the ground.
1. They loved cinnamon. 2. They were not expecting to see cinnamon. 3. This person could not have known of their crippling cinnamon addiction, unless...
Their eyes darted to him & back again, shifting variations of squints & slits until they finally decided it was entirely coincidental. And if they later found out that it wasn't, there was an extremely simple, quick, & effective solution.
They smiled & gave a loose shrug of their shoulders, ripping the bag open, unwrapping a candy, & popping it into their mouth.
"Maybe, maybe not. I wanna hear more about how funny I am..." they said with a playful, half joking, purr.

Jasper almost choked on his drink when he heard WR's response. Instead, he would pause mid-sip, process their mildly flirtatious comment, and set down his lemonade. As if a switch turned on, his smile became more inviting, with a devilish flair. He leaned back further and let his eyes seem to glitter as they softened slightly. Subtle changes that showed he was willing to play along. He had no intentions of taking it further, but there was no harm in having fun.
"Not usually... I try to help out and be on my way. But sometimes, I find special exceptions."
Suddenly, at the mention of snacks, they would go back to child-like excitement. Jasper giggled quietly at this, amused at the sudden changes of energy. When they squeaked, his eyes seemed to light up and his smile grew. It was a heartwarming reaction, something he didn't expect from the outspoken individual.
Then, in the blink of an eye, they seemed suspicious. Excluding a slight head-tilt, Jasper's expression remained the same. He made mental notes and had plenty of questions but chose to stay silent and let them conduct their vibe check. This decision seemed to pay off when they returned to their flirtatious demeanor. He was starting to get the hang of their ebb and flow, returning to his flirtatious posture to match the vibe. Their last comment made him chuckle, a cute edge briefly surfacing from beneath his calm, sultry mien.
"Well, you're certainly more entertaining than anyone else I could be talking to right now. Probably the most laughs I've had all week."
He would pause to take another sip, happy to indulge their desire for compliments.
They sucked softly on the round cinnamon delight, guiding it to the corner of their mouth & swirling it around, where it left a rather generous impression in their cheek. They led it from one side to another, repeating this process until it gradually reduced the candy to nothing more than a flavorful memory. Then, they plucked another out of the bag, tossed the wrapper aside, & popped it into their mouth.
They set their phone face down on the table once more & replaced it with the lemonade, idly sloshing it around while they shimmied in their seat, pressing their back fully against the tattered cloth of the chair. Their eyes continued to study the strange individual before them, taking note of any nuances that may have jumped out at them.
They gave a slight tilt of their head at his shift in posture, curious as to how he was going to entertain them next. They rolled their eyes at the comment, forcing a scoff as they swayed their head to one side, several tufts of their blue-black hair falling around their face.
"Well, what can I say? It's part of the package," they said with a hint of sarcasm, though as with most things, it was difficult to tell whether they were actually being sarcastic or not. As another candy dissolved in their mouth, they took the opportunity to take another swig of lemonade, setting it next to their phone once they were satisfied. They popped a third candy into their mouth & crossed their arms over their chest in one fluid motion, contemplating.
Raising an eyebrow, they allowed themself to ask the question that always managed to open up many avenues for adventure, whether brief or long.

Jasper once again found himself being carefully observed by the short mechanic. His expression never wavered, though his curiosity glimmered in his eyes. They were so polarizing in their moods. It made him think of a light switch. Only when flipped the rooms now a new color and has an entirely different layout. Jasper began wondering if they had tells for their moods or maybe if certain actions evoked certain emotions. Maybe, if they spoke again, he could figure it out with time. For now, he felt he should just enjoy the moment.
Their sarcasm led to another observation. WR was a blunt person. Jasper was used to being talked to like this by the Yankan, but it seemed to be WR's default. With how prominent crime was, he would be more surprised if they hadn't been exposed to gang members. Jasper took a hit of his lemonade as WR did before attempting to leave his thoughts.
"There's a package? You mean there's even more to you than I could see at first glance? How exciting!"
Jasper met their energy with playful banter of his own. Brushing off any possible negativity they could have been throwing his way. Then they seemed to be deep in thought again. Jasper would tilt his head at this, acknowledging it without much thought or emphasis. Then they asked another question, an important one. Names turned strangers into acquaintances and, added a sentiment to a face.
"Nixon, but my friends call me Dick. Or at least they did before I killed them for calling me Dick. You?"
He would smile and push his hair out of his face as he awaited a response.
They allowed their guest the time to process & respond, rolling their foot over their crossed leg patiently. Their head fell into their palm again, as if they were fighting sleep, but their intense expression never wavered, nor did it leave his. They scoffed at his initial comment, rolling their eyes & blowing a clump of hair out of their face. Of course they were a package deal. This individual seemed to be one as well, with how damn calculated every thought, word, & action seemed. That was definitely something to keep tucked away in a dark corner of their own mind; he wasn't a stranger to this city. Still, they looked over him with burning curiosity. Still, he was not deserving of a keychain.
Suddenly, they found themself fighting to stifle a laugh.
"Dick?" they snickered, reminding everyone & their mothers that despite their blunt, intense, & generally cold demeanor, they still had the sense of humor of a sixth grader. "Man, that's gold," they said, straightening up their posture again, their mood seemingly shifting as they popped another candy into their mouth. "Fitting too," they added with a smirk. Uncrossing their legs, they began to swivel around in that sad little office chair, each motion emitting a tired squeak.
"WR," they said simply. They had many names & many variations of said names, but there weren't many who could get away with calling them anything other than 'WR' or 'boss'. "Likewise, if you call me anything else I can't promise you tomorrow," they said in a playful yet ominous tone, accompanied by the sudden crunch of a candy between their teeth. Their gleeful eyes betrayed those unnerving words however, as they often did.
"So, what now, Nyx?" they asked, returning their head to the comfort of their palm while they took another long, thoughtful sip of lemonade.
