"Drugs, weapons, gangs, violence, corrupt politicians....it's the stuff that fuels a peaceful societies nightmares. We want our children, our families, our friends and our neighbors to be safe. But, the Yankan and Inago have been coming in hot, feuding over who will win, who will gain control of our once thriving city at the expense of innocent lives. The government officials are doing everything they can to stop them, but they can't all be trusted either, can they? Life has been turned upside by the greedy and malicious hands of the gangs, officers and politicians and our once safe city, is no longer that. It is time for us to start picking sides, or hiding, because this is only the beginning the decline..."

After four years of working on this plot and story- we are finally open. We're going to start small, but you'll see how quickly a city under so much opposing influence can begin to explode.

[attr="class","ori"]Being new to the force Yumi often found herself getting the most boring tasks, such as patrolling the streets. Most of the time, she never really ran into anything exciting , at least not yet. On this particular day Yumi parked her police cruiser near by. She really did prefer just walking her territory.
Her task more specifically was to patrol the public school district, for it was a hot spot for drug activity. Suited up, in uniform, and ready to roll she strolled down the sidewalk. Some people would smile and wave, others would avoid even looking at her. There was a big divide in the city, and she was aware that some of her co-workers weren't as straight-edge as she was which caused a lot of normal people to just not like the police.
But, Yumi wanted to break the mold. She wanted to be the cop that people could trust, that people could come too with their problems. She wanted to make peace in the city. But sometimes that seemed like too big of a job, even for her.
So, an unlikely acquaintance/friends situation? I know Reiko is a firecracker and Yumi isn't all that 'out there' so maybe they would compliment each other in that way- so Reiko blowing up or being mean/rude wouldn't deter Yumi too much since she already doesn't have a set way of socially interacting with people. I can't wait to see how they interact though, should you start it? (I feel like Yumi would be the one to confront Reiko in whatever situation you see fit, maybe even something simple like whatever Reiko is wearing strikes Yumis interest)
[attr="class","ori"]Yumi took her job seriously, but she tried to make it a point that her night out was not going to be consumed by that. But this guy was definitely trying to push all of her buttons. Yumi could tell he wasn't taking her seriously given his random bouts of laughter in response to her.
The cherry on top was his statement as he brushed past her. She turned to follow him, her drunk brain unable to just let the situation go. ”For all you know I could be the best cop in this city!” She added angrily, it wasn't true but one day it could be.
With this she stayed on him, like a leech. ”You have some nerve, you know that?” She continued, ”insulting strangers...” her tone emitted her frustrations in a slurred voice. She had every nerve in her body tempting her to slap the man she was following, or trip him- anything really. But, she still had some self control.
[attr="class","ori"]At this point, Yumi was enraged. 'Who does this guy this he is? Does he know I'm a cop?' Clearly the tipsy woman had forgotten she specifically got dressed up and went out to escape her duties, so no of course the man didn't know she was a cop. But for whatever reason when he spoke, it just pissed her off more and more.
Puffing her cheeks and clenching her fists she yelled, ”Well, I don't have a fake I.D., it's illegal!” She took a wobbly step towards the larger man, her amber eyes narrowed with agitation as he continued to speak. She was in complete disbelief, no real drug dealer would ever confess something like that, especially in an argument at the night club.
'This guy can not be serious right now, does he think he's funny?' Yumi frowned and poked a finger at his chest. ”You're not funny and you shouldn't joke like that.” Her tone had an obvious shift as she grew more serious about his statement. Her night was supposed to be a break from being a cop and this guy just had to make it weird. ”You never know if who you're talking to could be a cop,” Yumi huffed, she felt dizzy as she continued to glare up at the man, daring him to say something else with her eyes.
I agree, they wouldn't have been able to meet prior to 2019 (When Yumi moved from Tokyo to Keibetsu). Yumi is a workaholic who doesn't get out much but it would be nice for them to meet outside of her work and when Reiko isn't doing gang stuff. Yumi is very off-putting to the eye, in a way where she seems completely small and innocent much like Reiko is (or so I imagine her to be), so being out of uniform maybe she could get Reikos attention, just enough to become acquaintances without finding out what the other does for work until later on? That way, they would already have some sort of connection once Reiko comes up as a suspect or something like that and Yumi is sent to pull her in for questioning? Maybe Yumi can even let her go in future threads once they find out because I want her to be a little emotionally corrupt?
[attr="class","ori"]From the floor of the club, everything looked like it was spinning. It took her a moment to refocus on the man she had ran into, nearly missing what he was saying to her. Her face grew red, as if she were embarrassed, as she took his hand and pulled herself up, but almost instantly after she was back on her feet she threw her arms across her chest. ”If I wasn’t old enough, they wouldn’t have let me in.” Yumi stated, almost angrily and with a slur, those shots had definitely kicked in.
She knew she was at fault for bumping into him, but how dare he assume her age just because she’s small? Yumi narrowed her eyes, as she stared up at the guy. ”The audacity…” she mumbled under her breath, obviously upset by the interaction.
She was a respected member of the law, not a child and she deserved to be treated as such. She puffed her cheeks, gazing up at the tall dark haired man, he didn’t seem like he was really in his element either. He seemed almost displeased…..well, she did run into him, but that wasn’t the point. ”What’s your deal then? You don’t exactly look like you’re in the right place either sir,” it was bold of her to assume he was out of place, but she felt like she had to defend herself to some agree, and deflection was her method of doing so.
The moment Reiko and Yumi found about each others occupations, they would definitely become enemies. That's not to say if Reiko was even in trouble Yumi wouldn't try to protect her though (it is her job). How would they meet and find out about each others roles? If they meet prior to knowing what the other does, it would make a lot more personal and emotional when they find out. Or Reiko could a suspect in a small crime that Yumi is sent to investigate, which would dictate how they would feel about each other when Yumi hunts her down to ask her questions?
[attr="class","ori"]Flashing lights, loud music, a ton of people, and not to mention all the possible narcotics floating around, to say the least Yumi was definitely out of her element. She decided to hit up the club after a long day of patrolling the streets, she deserved to go out and treat herself. Plus, Yumi needed to try and get out of her shell a little. She always felt stuck in her identity as an officer, so it felt good to get dressed up in a cute pink crop top and a black skirt and just be Yumi.
Once inside she went up to the bar to order a little bit of liquid courage, it was already hard enough for her to be in a place with so many people, but it was even harder sober. She waved over the bartender, ”two shots of the strongest tequila you got,” her order was short and sweet, and while she didn’t drink often she did have her preferences. Once her shots arrived, she paid in cash and downed them without a second thought. Being small, two shots were enough to get her feeling better, less anxious.
As she began feeling the effects of the alcohol, she mustered up the courage to edge her way to the dance floor, tonight was her night to let loose and forget about work. She felt herself getting lost in the crowd, her body flowing with the upbeat music, she spun and twirled, her face lit up with a bright smile. Why did she hate going out like this? It wasn’t so bad? But as those thoughts began to cross her mind, she collided with someone, knocking herself to the ground and back into reality.
She looked up at the stranger she accidentally charged into, ”I am sorry!”
Yumi Itoh is a shy yet devoted officer of the law.

[attr="class","somelyrics"]FEELS LIKE YOU'RE MINE
Being a sheltered kid, Yumi grew up with low social skills. Friends are hard for her to make as she keeps herself somewhat in a shell. Having someone who would push her out of her shell and open her mind to other realities other than the ones the fantasizes about, wouldn't be such a bad thing. It would take an eccentric, fun loving person to show her life outside of her job as a police officer. (She also has an unnamed brother five years older than her that she left behind when she was eighteen *wink wink*)

[attr="class","someh"]NEGATIVE
[attr="class","somelyrics"]FEELS LIKE I'M YOURS
To say the least, Yumi is stubborn and has her own firm beliefs on what is right and wrong. This would make her an easy target for anyone she would deem a threat or objectively "bad". Being an officer of the law also automatically comes with it's own set of enemies and rivals, affiliates of the gangs, corrupt officers who don't trust that she can keep her mouth shut, or even commoners who just generally distrust the police. The possibilities are endless.

[attr="class","somelyrics"]FEELS LIKE WE'RE LOVERS
Love is not something Yumi has ever even thought about. Her parents kept her on such a short leash she never got to mingle in the dating life. She has never had a relationship, or a romantic interest. With this being such a foreign concept to her it would take a dedicated admirer to show her this world exists.
[attr="class","sometab"]» CRUSHES OPEN » FIRST LOVE OPEN » SWEETHEART OPEN
Often mistaken as a child, Yumi is small in stature, with a sweet and welcoming demeanor. Her eyes are a beautiful amber color, that often mimics fire in bright light. She usually keeps her hair short, pulled back with a red ribbon she kept from her mother.
PERSONALITY
Yumi is an interesting individual, growing up completely sheltered she tends to be quiet reserved, and shy on a social level, something her appearance wouldn’t support. Yumi doesn't go out of her way to meet new people or to make friends, leaving her feeling oftentimes lonely. Though, she tries to combat this by pouring her life into her work, always picking up extra shifts, staying late to help solve the latest crime. It's almost the perfect distraction.
She is silently determined by what she believes is right and wrong, making her something of a hard-headed person. She is rooted in her beliefs. However, even though she is awfully stubborn and reserved, she has a kind heart. She is soft on those she see’s struggling, always wanting the best for humanity.
Needless to say, Yumi is rather sympathetic to others, and finds herself often involving herself in other peoples issues with the idea she is helping. She can be pushy when she feels someone isn’t being honest about something she feels would be better in the open, especially in her work environment. She feels for other people and could be considered gullible, give a sob story and she’ll believe it and feel bad for you.
Yumi is something of an idealist. She has a vision of a peaceful world, where nobody has to worry about bad things happening, she wants an environment where parents don’t have to lock their kids inside out of fear of the violence lurking outside of their doors. To say the least, it’s part of why she makes a good cop (or maybe arguably a bad one).
With that being said, she takes pride in her job, despite what she had to sacrifice for it. And defends her title and fellow officers fiercely, even when she knows they’re in the wrong. Yumi struggles with her moral compass, by wanting to always do the right thing. Sometimes she finds herself compromised by the actions of her fellow officers, but tells herself it’s the bigger picture that matters.

BACKGROUND
Yumis’ life began on a cold January in the bustling city of Tokyo, Japan as her parents’ second child. Her family was fairly poor, earning money doing side jobs for sketchy businesses. Her and her older brother never questioned their jobs as the money put clothes on their backs and food on their tables. From a very young age Yumi was fiercely protected by her parents, they even went as far as homeschooling her until she graduated. With this came its burdens, as Yumi often felt lonely and excluded from life outside of their small house.
Her brother was her only friend, but being five years older and free from their parents overprotective clutches, he had a life of his own and often rejected her companionship. She found comfort in the internet, having access on their family’s computer. She would often go down the rabbit hole of true crime and news. This would eventually lead her to the idea that she wanted to be a peace maker. However, this was an idea her parents would quickly shut down, it was “too dangerous” and they didn’t want anything to happen to their “little girl”.
She held onto her parents rejection, and once she finished homeschooling she found an online ad for a roommate in the city of Keibetsu, she figured the only way she would ever be able to follow her dreaM was to leave her family behind. So, a few months after she turned eighteen she left, in the middle of the night, leaving nothing but a note telling them not to worry and that she would find her own way. She cut off all contact with her parents and brother and relocated. She got a part time job at a club, busting tables, just until she was able to afford to put herself through formal police training.
During her time at the academy, the city began to fall apart. The gangs she had heard of in the city were getting out of control, every day it was something new, something violent. This did nothing but fuel her desire to bring peace. Despite the fact that she wasn’t taken as seriously in the academy for she was small and seemingly weak, she pushed herself and wound up at the top of her class.
After three years she graduated the academy and landed a job with the city’s police department as an officer, where she now strives to keep people safe.
